How To Make Cream Fruit Chaat ( Photo Guide )
- Start by cutting the fruits into small, even-sized cubes so that they mix well together and are easy to eat.
- Next, take a bowl and mix together some yogurt, cream, and either sugar or condensed milk. Use a whisk or an electric mixer to beat the mixture until it becomes smooth and creamy, with no lumps left.
- After that, add all the diced fruits into the bowl with the creamy mixture and gently fold them in using a spatula or spoon, making sure that every piece of fruit gets nicely covered in the cream.
- Finally, put the mixture in the refrigerator and let it chill for at least 30 minutes so it’s nice and cool when you serve it. Once chilled, enjoy your refreshing and delicious fruit chaat!
A Ramadan Must Have
Every home has its own way of making popular dishes, whether it’s Karahi, Kebabs, or even Pulao!
The same goes for fruit chaat, it tastes different at every house. Some people just mix fruits with juice, salt, and pepper. Others add mayonnaise and cream, along with a bit of salt and lots of dry fruits.
But my favorite is the one that really captures the true meaning of its name. My brother jokingly calls it a “uniform dessert” lol, but we can’t break our fast without having this fruit chaat on the table!
I used to make the fresh juice version during Ramadan, but I noticed my husband never ate it. When I asked him why, he told me he prefers the creamy fruit chaat I make. For the past few years, I’ve been making this creamy version, and it’s become a family favorite!
Inspired By Tehzeeb Bakers
Tehzeeb Bakers is a well-known bakery in Pakistan that is famous for delicious treats, especially their salads.
I’ve already shared their tasty noodle salad recipe, which a lot of people love.
This fruit chaat recipe is similar to their popular fruit cocktail salad. If you’ve tried their salad and then make this at home, you’ll see how similar it is and taste the great flavors.
It’s a great way to enjoy a bit of Tehzeeb’s goodness right in your own home if you can :p
Simple Tips And Tricks
- When you’re whipping cream and yogurt together, make sure the cream is cold before you start. Cold cream whips up better and faster, making it light and fluffy, which is what you want for your dish.
- It’s best to use thick yogurt for this recipe because it makes the mixture creamier. Thick yogurt gives your fruit chaat a richer taste and a desired texture.
- Try to cut the bananas and apples just before you mix them in to keep them fresh. If you can’t do that, squeeze a little lemon juice on the diced apples and bananas. This will prevent them from browning and looking unappetizing.
- You can use either whipped cream or regular dairy cream for this recipe. Whipped cream makes the mixture fluffy and heavier, while simple dairy cream is smoother and lighter. I personally like using regular dairy cream because it gives just the right texture.
- When you mix everything together, be careful not to mix too much. Overmixing can make the cream lose its lightness and turn grainy. Gently fold the ingredients together to keep that nice fluffy feeling.
- It’s a good idea to put the mixture in the fridge before serving. This makes the flavors taste even better.
Must-Have Fruits for Your Fruit Chaat
There are some fruits that I think are really important to include for the best taste. But don’t worry, you can still add whatever fruits you like!
Whether you want to use a prepared fruit cocktail or fresh fruits, it’s totally up to you.
Some fruits that make fruit chaat really yummy are lychee, pineapple, papaya, cherries, strawberries , banana’s and pomegranate seeds, which add a nice crunch and a bit of tang. But don’t worry, you can add whatever fruits you like! Just use whatever you have in your kitchen.
The Right Amount Of Yogurt And Cream
The brand you choose can really change how your creamy mixture turns out. For a good balance and creaminess, it’s best to use equal amounts of yogurt and cream. So, if you use one cup of cream, you should also use one cup of yogurt. Just make sure the yogurt is sweet and thick for the best flavor and texture.
If you can’t find sweet, thick yogurt, you can use a different ratio. Try using half the amount of yogurt compared to the cream: like 1/2 cup of yogurt and 1 cup of cream. This will help keep the mixture creamy while still tasting good.
